silverado abs light
I have a 1996 silverado and the abs light is on. this causes the cruise control not to work. I would like to bypass the abs. anyone know how. I have 250000 miles on the truck and use it very little but I would like the cruise to work. the light is on all the time. it used to go off and on. when it did while driving, the tranny would come out of lock up too.

Re: silverado abs light
Abs brakes are a saftey feature.
Illegal to bypass. Check for abs codes and post back codes and someone will help you. MT

Are the ABS codes checked with a regular engine code reader? I've been thinking of buying one (40 bucks at harbor freight). Thanks for your reply! |

Nope...has to be a special expensive reader that dealers have and a good independent shop might have. |
