Rear AC Leak

Here is the latest on my rear AC leak on my 2002 Envoy XLT. The leak near the passenger rear axel was indeed AC fluid. They said the parts to replace the tube was +$1K, so went with a coupling repair kit. Two attempts to stop the leak failed. My question is; can I seal off the rear AC and recharge the system so I'll at least have AC in the front of the truck or am I stuck with replacing the whole pipe?

Thx...Getting hot in North Bay....Dave

Re: Rear AC Leak

Sure the rear can be "dummied up" have done it several times on older vehicles-Cut pipe- weld line shut- re-install dummied section.....

But what are they using to repair the leaky line now?-- Swageloks work great on aluminum pipe- have done several like that
