Transmission markings
Are there any markings on MT transmissions that indicate what it is? I have a Celica and a spare tranny, but all that looks different so far is that the starter on the one in the car is to the drivers side of the bellhousing. The other tranny in the trunk that came with it as a spare has the starter hole coming out the passenger side of the bellhousing. If this si the only difference should that really matter? Could I just mount the starter the other way, or is there a heat issue? Could I swap the bellhousing/transfer case with the other and be good? Any help? Thanks!
