Oil change question

I have a Oil change light and I was wondering if using one of those Fram high Mileage oil filters with the TRT additive will be any problem. I don't what to have the light come on again prematurely because of the gel inside the filter, will this be any problem?

Re: Oil change question

That is a technical question that is best answered by going to Fram online. Hate to tell you it won't hurt and have something go wrong. Probably wouldn't hurt though or they would throw out a warning somewhere on the box. The contents of the filter does not stay in a gel. it dissolves into your oil and disperses evenly throught the oiling system. It shouldn't collect anywhere.

There was an oil in the past that had graphite in it. It would collect in the oil filter and plug the system. Alot of people had problems with it. I haven't heard of anyone haveing trouble with Slick 50.

I simply use full synthetics and have no problems.

Re: Oil change question

BTW, use Wix, Purolator Pure One, ACDELCO, Mobil-1, K&N, or Amsoil oil filters. Fram is junk!
