'98 Protege' dash lights

My dash lights go out while driving. If I hit the dash with my hand, they come back for a time. They will go out again. Is there a ground in the dash I don't know about?

I'm not sure how hard you're hitting the dash, so don't laugh at my answer. Check to make sure your fuses are in tightly, pull them out then push them in again. Check the dash light dimmer switch on your dash and make sure it's properly plugged in. If so, remove it and check it's function with an ohm meter.
