cam question

Has anyone used a crane cams grind (powermax 2010) in a 267?
If so did you have detonation problems? and what compression ratio do you have?
I am building a stock 267 with a .030 overboar which will raise the compression a little over the 8.2 stock. There seems to be some augument over what the max compression for that cam is. I have even heard it may be in the 7s.

Re: cam question

I've not built a 267, but I am using a more aggressive PowerMax grind in my 350 with 9:1 compression (PowerMax 2030), no problem. I've used the same cam grind in a 305 with 267 heads, no problems. Looking at the specs of that cam (your 2010), it looks fairly mild and should work well with that engine, even up to 9:1 compression.
