Integra DC5 UPDATED!
Hello, my name is Jae and I'm a newbie, I just got my first order from hlj and I have a sony cypershot DSC-P9, so expect lots of progress pictures! I'm starting on my integra dc5 as you can tell from the title.
I just used to FAQ and sanded, washed, waited 1 day and sprayed it with some white tamiya primer. You probably can't see from this picture but, there is a slight black smudge, what should I do about it? Do you guys think the paint will cover it? That's all for now, I'll be starting on my interior and painting the body as soon as the body cures (1 week liek primera man has in his faq). Thank you! :flash: Last edited by AzNySj; 03-16-2003 at 11:53 AM. |

WELCOME TO AF!
Good luck on the kit, and I hope it ocmes out great. I think the black smudge can be taken out by sandpaper, that's what I would use What are your plans for rims? Any special body work? Which kit is it by the way??? Agian, welcome, and hope to see you around

Thnx! If I try to take it out with sandpaper, would I have to primer it again? I'm planning to just do it stock for my first kit. I have a celica and integra waiting after this, so I might do some custom work on those. Its a Fujimi kit, the regular Type R, not spoon or modulo.

I'm planning to paint it with matt white, so i guess I'm better of sanding it right?

yup sand it back a little. Then give another light coat of primer to even it back up again

welcome, i see you too are from hawaii
you are going to paint the car matt white use a fine grit sandpaper to take the smudge out, something like 1500 or 2000. if the plastic is showing after you sand, which it shouldn't if you put 2-3 coats of primer, just spray more primer.

Yea thats a good idea honoturtle.
So another coat of primer on the roof would cover this little smudge? And how long do I have to wait before I sand and primer again if needed, is 24 hours good? |

why would u want to use a Flat white as your body color?
it won't shine, it'll look dull.. or is it the look your going for? |
