Looking for a good S15 kit

Hi,
Im looking for a Nissan Silvia S15 kit, 1/24 scale. Im not too expirenced with modeling, so nothing too hard, but I want something with decent details. Something tuner-ish also, a nice body kit or something. It has to have somewhat good engine detail.
Any good modifications I can put on it?
Im hoping to find it at my local hobby store.
Thanks.

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

Unfortunately, there are only two S15 Silvia kits on the market; Fujimi's and Aoshima's and they're both curbside.

Of the two, however, Aoshima's is easily the superior in both accuracy and detail, as well as being offered in a few interesting variants.

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

Aoshima also made S13 with engine details based on their the S15 chassis parts, so it wouldn't be so hard to combine a curbside S15 and a detailed S13.

This is the S15 right? I see the D1 versions, and those seem to come with more of a body kit, so would I be better off getting one of these (for the bodykit) rather then the one I linked?

Is this the S13 you refered to (scroll down a bit)? I like the engine detail.

I was hoping there would be a roll cage in the D1 model, what would have been the icing on the cake. Is there any difference between the different versions, other than the decals?

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

the s13 model motor is good for the valve cover and the intake manifold. thats about it. the aoshima s13 only has the top half of the motor . if you could mate the top half of the s13, to the other half of a similar motor , then it would be good. you could make it work. thats what i did to my sr20 to put in a diff car.

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

What would a similar motor be?
Also, I can't find the kit for the first car in the link above (http://www.geocities.com/vitaraman/nissan.html, the first picture), know where I could get one.
This S15 sounds like its going to turn out to be quite complecated (and maybe expensive?).

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

well, i happen to get mine from ModelExpress(i think), i have seen them on ebay a few times. a similar motor that i used was the monogram ford tunderbird four cylinder turbo.the motors look nothing alike. all you need is the very bottom half like the oil pan and nothing else.

This one?

How different do the S13 and S15 models look? I don't really want to spend like $60 on this.

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

I think Im going to start with just the S13, then later on I'll put the S15 body on or something. Is there anyway I can find a body kit to put on the S13?

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

Think I could fit http://www.modelexpress.net/cgi-bin/...AOS_35115.html in the D1 S15's?

Re: Looking for a good S15 kit

thats a half motor too, and i got one of those too. to get the best Skyline engine, i think the tamiya R32 race car or street car is the best . thats what i get alot of.the tamiya R32 kit comes with the complete engine detail. it comes with twin turbos, good valve cover, and trans. to put the motor in a diff. car you might have make it look like a Rwd version, so there is some modding.
