Re: DPFE sensor?
2000 taurus 24V duratec, 60K miles with SES light on: after reading all the DPFE, differential pressure feedback EGR, sensor problems and the factory Technical service bulletin reference in the forums, I changed it with a Niehoff FE5031 from Kragen for about $40 and the "service engine soon" light turned off within a day. Getting the sensor off takes a lot of wiggling of the rubber tubes.
But the EGR code was still set when i went for the smog test a few days later and they would not pass the vehicle. So I am waiting a few more days of use to see if it will reset without disconnecting the battery. However, will the code reset by itself, as suggested by the smog tester? |

Re: DPFE sensor?
You can go to your local parts house and they might erase the code for you. The system will reset itself, but it takes a few key on cycles and drive cycles. Having it erased witha scan tool, you need to drive it for 2 drive cycles to have all the monitors reset.
