Question wont shift

I only have 1st gear no reverse is there a fuse 95 pontica transport

Which engine? 3.1 is a 3speed 3T40; 3800 is a 4 speed 4T60....
The condition you describe shows only in the 4T60 trouble shooting guide....

This is what GM book says for FIRST SPEED ONLY

.....FIrst item (control valve) is most likely....and requires removal of end cover "only"....but it requires pulling the driver side half shaft as it passes through the cover.
