Just got my money's worth!

I am back at my favorite stoplight, ready to cross a five-lane highway when the light turns green. I pull into the open right lane, next to an older Pontiac GTP. I have to take the left lane within about 300 feet past the light, as it narrows to a single lane in my direction.

I usually don't launch against cars I know I can beat -- instead, I give my WRX medium throttle off the line; if they don't go hard, I keep it medium, if they do, it gets boost soon enough and I zoom on by.

Well, he does go, so I push the pedal down and I'm just about past him in the intersection when some A**HOLE in a 3/4-ton white beater truck makes a rolling right turn practically on his two left wheels into the intersection, in my lane.

I have absolutely no time to think. The Pontiac is not slowing down, and there are other cars behind me so that slamming on the brakes will make me into a tasty sandwich between the back of the truck and the car that rearends me.

Pure reaction, and fortunately the correct one. I have to try to shoot the gap. I wind the motor through 7k, find the gap and do not recall shifting into 2nd, only that the entire mess is now far behind me. I am extremely grateful for the 100 extra horsepower provided by my just-installed VF39, turboback exhaust, and professional road tune.

Would I have made it stock? Hopefully, but it would have been tight. I actually had room to spare. Holy Sh*t, Batman.

drivetrain loss made that more fun than it needed to be haha but nice job, sounds like what i did in the old Accord, except yours was faster and more life and death situation.
