94 sls fans wont work

My sls has been overheating and I changed the fans and the fan relay but my fans still wont come on. The car gets hot really fast and the temp reads at 220f and sometimes above I took it the get an OBD1 and all they could tell me was that it was electrical. Could it be my temp control sensor? can anyone help? I also checked all the fuses and they were fine.

Welcome to AF, the fans are not commanded on until about 222 degrees, you need a a scanner that can read live info and see when the temps reach that point does the fan come on, if not could be the the relay or a bad connection or fan motor, the pcm uses the coolant temp sensor for inputs here, so the scanner can confirm it's readings.

Re: 94 sls fans wont work

As MW noted your temps sound normal. Fans on my '93 4.9 don't come on until 224/225 deg. Try watching the temp until it goes past 226, if, in fact, it does. If the fans don't come on, pull the connection on the coolant temp sensor. If the fans kick on then, the CTS is bad.
