2000 Intrigue - Turn Signal Problem

2000 3.5. When putting on turn signal, BOTH lights (left and right) flash, altho the other side is much fainter. So, when I put on Left turn signal it all 3 lights (dashboard, front, and back) flash normally, but also the RIGHT side also flashes (all 3 lights, only much fainter) Likewise is true when I put on Right turn signal (left ones flash, altho much fainter.)

I had replaced the Emergency Flasher switch two years ago, when turn signals didn't work sometimes (normal problem with these cars.)

So, I figured it must be that, so I replaced the Emergency Flasher switch again, but that did not fix the problem.

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: 2000 Intrigue - Turn Signal Problem

I fixed it. It was a short in an add-on plug for a trailer hitch that the previous owner put on. I just cut the wires to this add-on plug, where
it tapped in to the wiring harness to the taillights. Lucky guess on my part, since I don't know too much.
I really appreciate your reply. This forum has saved me a lot of money since I have all the same problems that everyone else has with this quirky car.

Re: 2000 Intrigue - Turn Signal Problem

Can either of you guys tell me what the part number is for the emergency flasher switch? My turn signals have been wacky for a few months and everytime I try to get it replaced it's nearly $300!
