Dead Washer Fluid Pump
My windshield washer pump seems to be dead. When I use it I don't hear the pump at all. The wipers work fine though so I don't think it's a fuse as they both use the same fuse I think.
How easy is it to replace this and where is it located? |

Re: Dead Washer Fluid Pump
You can rule out the fuse since both circuits share the same one.
The pump is located with the washer reservoir tank, on the outside of it. Best thing to do is see if you have voltage at the electrical connector to the pump when the washer switch is activated. If voltage is present then the pump is bad.

Quote:
Pull your passenger side headlight fixture. You should be able to easily see the resevoir now. Reach around the left side of the resevoir and feel where the pump, sensor and wiring harnesses are. The pump itself will tip out on the top and then just pull right out. There are no fasteners hold it in, just a friction clip built into the resevoir. Make sure your on an area that you do not mind spilling fluid as the hole the pump fits into is closer to the bottom of the resevoir, fluid will rush out if you have any appreciable amount of fluid in there. Installing the replacement is easy, just slide the intake into the rubber grommet/hole, and push the pump 'nub' into the friction joint. Reconnect the wiring harness and go give it a run.
