LS - Tripping,stumble,or missing

Getting bored and working on new project for a friend.
Symptoms: on 2001 Lincoln LS.

1) No chk Eng Light.
2) Between 1K-2K rpm's,we get a stumble with Automatic.
3) Sounds like a miss in idle with Air ON/OFF.
4) In Sport mode on Automatic Transmission, and shift above 2K rpm's,seems tobe just fine.

Suspect:

EGR! - EGR is suppose tobe off during Idle + cold.

A bad EGR or gasket is like a open port or window to the INTAKE.

If there's a leak during Idle mode,it will develope these symptoms.

What do you Guys think, before I get my hands dirty ?

Re: LS - Tripping,stumble,or missing

If the EGR is stuck open, it will probably stall the engine at idle. If it's just a bit open, then you could get symptoms such as you describe.

The 2000-2002 were known for leaking spark plug well seals that allows oil into the plug wells which will eventually cause coils to short to the head leading to a misfire. On the V-8 it's not bad to check all 8 coils. On the V-6, only 3 of them are easily accessible, the other three require removing the upper intake manifold. If you find the EGR is not the culprit and opt to check the coils on a V-6, you will want to be prepared to replace the valve cover gasket set because you probably won't feel like putting it all back together while you order the updated gasket set.

Thanks Shorod -
This car is a V8,and No CHK ENG Light, that's why I suspected EGR.
The plugs + coils are free of oil.
The funny thing is,I can't find the EGR ''Bool Yea''
I can see the ISC,ICV,CATS,INTAKE ,and Exhaust Manifolds.

MCGIVER needs a coffee !

YEA HA!
How about a gummey + sticky throttle plate? ,and they were talking about a new AT Trans.

Hey! Don't forget to clean that emmission breather port on Left valve cover near
the fuel Temp sensor!

Note: Use a 3/32 (2.5mm) drill bit to clean port into valve cover (40mm-45mm).

This port provides PCV emmission when throttle body is close + idle.
