Question Can I tow with a 2001 model?

Does anyone know if a trailer hitch can be hooked up to a 2001 Grand Caravan? What I am trying to do is, tow a small car with one of those dolly trailers that lifts the front wheels of the car being towed, off the ground. Are these vehichles powerful enough to tow? Thanks in advance! -Pat

Yes you absolutely can tow with your van, however I would HIGHLY suggest buying a transmission oil cooler from your local parts store, the transmissions on minivans run too hot as it is w/o towing, cost for all parts will be around the 50 dollar range on the cooler, and shouldnt take you more than an hour to install, it helps ALOT toward keeping you're transmission in good condition. Please take my advice from someone who has seen too many different Chrysler transmissions. (Especially the damned A606, jesus).

I agree with the transmission cooler, towing or not. Towing a small car??? I would really reconsider unless its just for a few miles.

I've been towing a 1977 pop-up trailer that sleeps 8 with my 2001 Grand Caravan for a couple of years now with no problems. I've installed both the tranny and engine coolers beforehand and am also going to install load-leveling shocks soon. If you are only towing this car a short distance then I wouldn't bother doing any upgrades unless you are going to be doing any future towing.
