Buick Regal - error code 41 - Car has slight Hesitation
I have a '92 Buick Regal - 3800. Recently my check engine light has started to go on and off. Also my car has picked up an occasional hesitation (runs fine most of the time, but hesitates a little and then comes out of it - car has never died out). I check the codes and came up with error code 41.

Re: Buick Regal - error code 41 - Car has slight Hesitation
DTC 41 indicates that the cam sensor signal was not received by PCM for the last 5 seconds while engine was running. The cam position sensor is used for injector timing. If this signal is lost, the injectors have one chance in six of firing in time with the intake valve opening. The results of this would be hesitating & stumbling during initial acceleration. Check for faulty connections, faulty cam sensor, or missing/damaged cam gear magnet. This DTC can also indicate a problem with the vehicle's timing chain, or crank position sensor, however, usually if the CKPS is at fault, you will have stalling.

Re: Buick Regal - error code 41 - Car has slight Hesitation
Code 41 is the CMPS (Camshaft position sensor) circuit.
This code can indicate a failed CMPS, the wiring to it (corroded, worn thru, etc...), or the magnet in the cam gear that the CMPS gets its signal from has fallen out (pretty common issue on these cars).
