tranny fluid
I have a 1990 chevy 1 ton with a dump bed. 350 v-8 4 speed manual .
I changed the tranny fluid today. I used pennzoil syncromesh. The owners manual didn't have crap about capacities, Does anyone know how many quarts it takes and did i use the right stuff. The parts store guy got the syncromesh out of a computer. I put in 4 quarts. Should i fill it up to the fill plug? Thanks Jeff |

Re: tranny fluid
Which tranny do you have?
I have the factory manuals for 90 and they list 2 4 speed manual transmissions: HM-117 New Process Both hold 4.2 quarts; however, the HM-117 uses Manual Transmission Fluid while the New Process uses Dexron II Automatic Transmission Fluid. I always fill to the fill plug for manual transmission/transfer cases. //2000CAYukon |
