1992 Chevy lumina Euro 3.4 Liter getting terrrrrribble gas mileage
Yeah the title pretty much says it all. I'm not sure why it gets such bad mileage.

check for vacuum leaks. i had a hose pop off on the way home from work one day "48 miles" and it ate up 1/2 tank...

See if your o2 sensor is tossing a code. that can affect gas mileage as well...

Re: 1992 Chevy lumina Euro 3.4 Liter getting terrrrrribble gas mileage
Is the thrmostat stuck open, not letting the engine heat up? If it was tuned up I'm assuming an air filter & fuel filter were changed. Is the tranny going into overdrive?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions but just trying to get a feel for what is going on. |

Re: 1992 Chevy lumina Euro 3.4 Liter getting terrrrrribble gas mileage
How's the car running? Poor gas mileage usually equals poor engine performance. What method are you using to calculate MPG? Do you know the capacity of your tank? Also factor in your driving habits. I get 20 in city with my 90 3.1 but the wife says I could've been Miss Daisy's chauffer Im so slow...

Re: 1992 Chevy lumina Euro 3.4 Liter getting terrrrrribble gas mileage
Ok i just went and swapped out the Fuel Filter. It looked as if it hadn't been replaced at all... That and I Changed out the PCV Valve not sure if that will help but it looked like it needed a replacing.. Yeah so maybe this will help with the mileage a little bit.
