2nd gear start

i have a 96 gp,se,3.1, 120,000 miles. it has a switch for 2nd gear start. should i be using this switch? and under what conditions?

is the switch a factory installed option? I've never heard of this. And No, I dont think you "should" be using it. However, I dont think it would hurt anything.

the switch looks to be factory installed option.i cant say for sure becouse i bought it used.
