'97 GM Headlight Replacement

I'm considering getting replacement headlight assemblies for my wife's '97 GM. The old ones are very cloudy, I've polished them out which works for a while.

How hard are they to replace? One online source of them recommended having them done by a body shop. I'm pretty capable, just not on familiar ground with this type of work.

Thanks, Bob

The assemblies are easily replaced. There are 2 clips that need pulled up on each assembly. You will need to adjust them when the new ones are installed. Remove the plastic radiator cover and you will see the buckets. Look fot the clips and remove them. Then pull buckets out. Install same way. Good luck.

Yeah, you will be surprised how easy it is to change them out.

See if this might help. Picture is not great, but it is all I have.

Re: '97 GM Headlight Replacement

Not sure on 97 but on my 98 I had to buy a special wrench to adjust them. It was a tiny ratchet wrench. I think it was a 4MM.
