head lamp cluster

I have a 2003 impala with a 3.4 engine . My question is. On the head lamp there is a cap over one of the bulbs. It has fallen off and I cant see any where to get in there to put it back on. I took the whole thing off the car and can not see where to take it apart. If you take out the bulb you still cant get in there with your fingers. Is this able to come apart? or do I have to buy a new one?

thanks in advace

Re: head lamp cluster

On the 2000, there are some rubber dust caps that are about 2.5 inches in diameter on the back of the headlight assembly. You may be able to get your fingers in them, if the 2003 has them.
Otherwise, there is no way to get the assembly apart.

Thumbs up Re: head lamp cluster

Hey if I understand what you are talking about it is the bulb shield that fell off.Is it silver and sitting inside the lamp?If so there is no-way to put it back in.I work for the company that makes the 210 lamps for the Impala and the shields are put in under a press. So even if you could get at it there is no-way of getting it back in.Check and see if it is still under warranty if so they should replace it for free. Hope this is the right help for you.
