2003 Nissan 350z as first car

hi im 15 right now and me and my dad are planning to get a 2003 nissan 350z that costs 25k or less for myself next year when i get my probationary license. I will be going to classes as i hold my learners license and will practice alot before buying the car..
i will be driving it with my probationary license....
is Nissan 350Z a good first car IF u have had lessons before ur probationary license (lots of lessons)?
And is the Nissan easy to drive?

sorry to say it, but new drivers suck. That car can easily catch you off guard, especially when you get overconfident or are in the rain.

aww dude please don't get a mustang... And 2003 350z's are not 25k, My friend looked hard for a solid month and found one for 13k. On ebay most of them buy it now are like 15k. And why would u spend 25k on ur first car? Most of us only get a 5k budget, anyways, Just don't get a mustang.

Fords die and so will you in anything with more than 100hp at 16. You cant say no to a challenge from some guy in a Honda covered in stickers when your 16 sitting in a 350z. Horrible idea. Get a new beetle.

im agreeing with the flow here. the 350z is a great car, but it has alot of power = temptation = overzealous driving = trouble in the hands of a novice driver. if you like nissans, why not look at the sentra se-r. plenty more practical, i bet its plenty less to insure as well, and more than enough power. learn, get experience and a few years down the line get yourself a Z.

taking some "lessons" are by no means going to compensate for the experience you get from driving on the road for a couple years. get a 15+ second car for your first imo, drive that for a 1.5-2 years, then upgrade to something a little nicer. i'm not trying to be pessimistic, but if you get something on par with a 350z/mustang gt for your first car there is a very good chance you will wreck it, or worse.

yes DO NOT get a mustang gt as your car, like everyone else says on this thread you will crash it. even if you say you will drive it easy the power is always there for something to happen with an unexperienced driver at the wheel.

like everyone said, dont get a car over 7.5k for ur first car.
im 16, turning 17 in 20 days. WOOOT.
i have friends who hav crappy cars as their first car because they know they will crash it.
even the rich spoiled kids tat i know hav a price limit of 8k cuz they kno themselves that they are going to crash.
my friend was driving for 6 months now (one of the best teenage drivers i know), and he crashed last weekend.
good thing he only spent 5k on it.

Damn, a 25,000$ car as your first? Insurance on a sports car like the ones mentioned will cost you out the ass. I am 16 and work so I know. I have been driving for a couple years now and have had no tickets or crashes or anything, so as long as you are careful you won't necessarily crash. People are gettign a little overzealous in their assumptions. But dude, my advice is too save your money and get a job and look around before you just go out and have mommy and daddy buy you an expensive sports car.

The Nissan is pretty easy to drive. You should watch out though because since you will be a new drive you will be more liable to get into an accident and that's with any car. I would buy something cheaper for now if I were you.
