I have just purchased a '92 amigo for a steal (i thought). I bought this truck knowing that there were a few minor problems but did not realize how hard it would be to locate and fix the problems. Here's my laundry list, and any help with any part of it would be greatly appreciated:
* Left turn signal works; but right signal makes an awful grinding sound (also the hazard lights make the same awful noise). * Rear abs light is on continuously although the brakes work perfectly. * Separate brake light is also on, (again the brakes work fine). * Rough idle ( sort of sounds like a vw bug). * Sounds as though the engine is working harder than it should when driving at a constant speed down the road. ( Could this be because it is very lowed geared ? And can this be adjusted? ) * I also need info as to how to adjust the clutch, it is slipping a little bit. I have already changed the spark plugs, plug wires, rotor bug and cap. And I have replaced the oil and oil filter and also flushed the radiator and replaced the hoses. I am a single mother doing all repairs myself so any help or advice as to my next step would be wonderful. Thank You

Farmersville.....that is near Visaila ??? I lived in SC as a kid and would dove hunt with my father in that area. Great place to live....and hunt.
Need more infor on the truck... Engine size, 4X4 or not ?, transmission ? Fuel injection ?? Mileage ??? The other thing is invest in a Repair Manual, Hayes makes one and is available at most AutoZones or Advance Auto part. Read it from front to back. It will be your best friend for repairs !!!! Brakes....double check the fluid..everything else is tolerable, but brake failure and kill someone !!! Some place have Free Brake checks....find one !!! Good Luck....JzJzz in South Carolina... |

The items that need inspection on a lift can be done while doing a combined parts run with shopping. Take advantage of free inspection from brakes to tranny. They will try to schedule you in, but you have better things to do and will schedule it later is the best way to get out. |
