dash lights/parking lights

ok, so my dash lights go out one night, just out of the blue, and along with those went my parking lights. i can get them both to come on if i only turn my light switch to the "parking lights" knotch or whatever... if i turn the switch to the next knotch to where my headlights come on, the dash lights go out, the parking lights go out. i have checked for bad fuses, all the bulbs are good... im lost, please help thanks!

Its more than likely the switch itself. find a service manual and learn to read a wiring diagram. Find the wires you need to check on the backside of the switch and get some readings on them. I recently had to diagnose the same switch (slightly different problem) and I know the diagram well and also know that it can be a little confusing.
