NEW G6 Car alarm/mod questions!!

Hello, I just got an 06 pontiac G6 GT with the 3.5L V6. I want to throw an alarm system in there, first and foremost, all I'm looking for is security, remote start, and door unlock features. I know Viper is the class A alarm systems, but is there anything comparable and cheaper? Any suggestions?

ALSO, Its 201hp, I want to put in a cold air intake and exhaust kit (dont want it to sound like a rice burner) wondering if anyone could tell me what to get, what it would do to gas mileage/acceleration/horsepower/torque? Just trying to assess if this would be worth it. It's nice, and fast.

Thanks In advance for the help!

Re: NEW G6 Car alarm/mod questions!!

I don't know jack about car alarms.

However, and intake and exhaust will give your car maybe 5-10HP at the most. You're not going to be able to feel much from it if at all. As for not sounding ricy I'm not sure since the sound depends on a lot of different variables from muffler placement all the way down to the firing order. You might want try the Pontiac section to see if they know.

I hate to say I have an automatic, (never learned manual, figure it's easy, but wasnt about to buy a car I wasn't 100% on operating.

WITH THAT said, seeing if i can do anything under 1,000 dollars to increase it by about 50 hp and a higher 0-60...any recommendations? Is it worth it with an automatic?

I would say it depends on what auto it is. Having driven a G6 auto for almost two months I would say don't bother.

Usually... we tend to try for lower 0-60 times.

im not too sure, but i think you have the same trans as the supercharged gtp or the grand prix. i get confused. if anything you could shoot nitrous, but id just save the money, and autocross. learn the car more and have fun in g-stock class.

Re: NEW G6 Car alarm/mod questions!!

As someone who works for GM, I'd say don't bother. As someone who understands the modding bug, I'm not sure what the market is for the G6. I think that it has some GM Performance Parts available for it, if you want to go that route. Spray would be nice. I wouldn't worry about boosting it, just look at some bolt ons for now and see where that leaves you.

Re: NEW G6 Car alarm/mod questions!!

Hey anyone know anything about the Revelco alarm? Saying not one has been overrided by a thief? My car is fast enough, not going to get into hardcore racing, not sure how damaging nitrous is, so I think I'm going to drop modding my car.

Get that alarm and then the best mod you should look into doing is whatever will help improve fuel economy.
