radio code??

i recently purchased an used acura radio. i havent tried to hook it up yet but i hear that i will need a code to unlock it. i havent a clue to what it came out of or what year it goes in. what do i need to get the code so a second vehicle can be with music again??

I think just the radio ser number, the dealer may want to charge you for this
