2001 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4 V6
I have a code po1639 and dont really understand what it means. My scanner says manufacturer control auxiliary Inputs, auxiliary outputs and when i kick it down the car sounds like the trans is slipping but its ok. Runs great idling and i can open throttle and it sounds like its missing but no codes setting there but when i drive it and kick down check scanner it says multable misfire. What is the rev limiter and where is located. Any and all help be great.
Thanks Sam |

Re: 2001 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4 V6
Well, so much for your scanner. The DTC is a GM extended manufacturer specific DTC that not all scanners have in their database or interpret the code properly. The DTC is related to your A/C system. The PCM module uses the 5 volt reference 2 signal as a sensor feed for the A/C refrigerant pressure switch. It monitors voltage on the 5 volt reference 2 circuit. If the voltage is out of tolerance P1639 sets.
