F150 2wd symptoms after rebuild

Hey out there-I have a problem and ran out of diagnostic ideas. I'm working on a 95 F150 2wd, rebuilt the transmission, found pump was warped, and some overdrive clutches burnt. Replace the t converter with a stage 3, and added clutches to o/d as a diesel for performance. Test drive-3-4 harsh, 4-3 harsh, whining audible in drive shaft (thought it was converter whine, but dropped the pan, no contaminant) and tcc, ccs, ss all working, checked pressures-all with in specs. checked wire harness and connections, no dtc's set. the only thing i didn't do was replace the solenoids. Any suggestions?

You didnt say, but from your description im guessing your working on an E4OD. How many extra clutch disks did you put in the OD clutch, did you have trouble getting the clutch pack together? Did you have to really push down on or compress the pressure plate to get the snap ring in place? Could be that the clutch pack isnt releasing causing the OD planetary to stay engaged.

Yes, it is an E4OD, one extra clutch in the o/d drum, not as easy as it should have been to get the snap ring on - i took out the tranny again after going through the accumulator housing and found nothing wrong and changed out the solenoids. So maybe removing the extra clutch will work.

.......found the problem. The stage 3 converter dampner was at fault causing it to engage twice and extremely harsh in 3rd / and overdrive.
