turn signal/wiper switch replacement

hey i just got a ndew switch for the turn signals, wipers, and hazards and was wondering how i take off the top half of the plastic piece around the steering column. thanks

There are 3 screws that come up from the bottom that hold the two pieces (top and bottom)together.

ya i took those out and got the bottom half off, but i cant figure out the top half. its a 97 grand prix by the way

Did you remove the Torx screws at the back of the cover on the steering wheel? You have to do that first to get the top half off and then locate the screws holding the top half on.

Refer to the following procedure as a guide which is for a Regal but the process for a Grand Prix is the same.

hello well i finally got around to doing my turn signal switch... and i got as far as the top half of the plastic cover on the steering column. i got all the screws off, but how do i get the plastic off the ignition? the hole in the plastic column is clearly not as wide as the ignition
