Tahoe Transmission

Sorry guys i couldnt find the TAHOE forum,

anyway, i have a problem with my transmission, its a 1996 tahoe

it makes a whinney niose, the sound increases as the engines rev's up (only when driving)

its sound like

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

constant, in forward and in reverse

my dad and I thought it might be the torque converter,

Can any One help me so i dont have to spend a bunch of money on a mechanic?

Re: Tahoe Transmission

Does the noise happen in any gear?
1 or 2 or 3 or OD and reverse?
Does it go or change by engine RPM or MPH?

Re: Tahoe Transmission

You need to pinpoint the noise.
It might help to fet a trained ear at a repair shop to listen to it.
Can you hear any noise in park when you speed engine up?
Does the noise increase with engine rpm engine speed or does it increase with MPH road speed?
