Faulty Light Indicator

Hello,

I have a 2001 530i. All of my rear lights are functional (new bulbs and tested) yet the indicator panel on my dashboard indicates that both rear lights are faulty. I'm not sure what the problem is. Is there an indicator module that has gone bad??
