Engine revving wide open
I am currently working on my sisters 2000 model concorde 3.2L. I have changed both valve cover gaskets due to leaks. I also replaced upper intake gasket and throttle body gaskets in the process. I reassembled and attempted to start the engine when it revved wide open and i immediately had to shut it off. I disassembled and reassembled twice thinking i may have missed something but i am getting the same results. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Engine revving wide open
Are you sure the throttle isn't just stuck open? I've had that happen to me once.

Re: Engine revving wide open
That was my first thought but i checked that and even with the throttle cable disconnected it still does it. Im stumped. I thought maybe a vaccum leak but i checked for that too and can't find anything there either. Im begining to lead towards an electrial problem.

Re: Engine revving wide open
I mean... if the throttle is actually closed, for sure, how is it possible for it to revv "wide open"?? Unless, of course, the revving sucks the throttle open, but I thought that was impossible, with the big spring holding the throttle closed... is the spring broken or popped out of place?
