Sticky accelerator pedal (2001 sport trac)
My sport trac has a little hitch at the very top of the gas pedal when you press on it. Anyone ever experienced this or even know what I'm talking about?
Thanks, Mike |

Re: Sticky accelerator pedal (2001 sport trac)
The throttle body may be gummed up and sticking. Easy way to check is to remone top cover to get to throttle. Remove cable and see if the cable moves free. If so, clean the throttle body butterfly. Some of these are not supoosed to be cleaned, but replaced, but a good cleaning will work until it messes up again.

Btw, don't clean or lube the throttle body with any kind of spray that has silicones in it. They will coat the oxygen sensor and render it useless.
