What's the difference between...

I'm really going to show my ignorance on this one. I have a Chevy K1500 Z71, but it has acrylic name plates just behind the doors on both sides that say "Silverado".

Is my truck a K1500 or a Silverado?

What's the difference?

Silverado was a trim package.

K = 4wd, C = 2wd, 1500 = 1/2 ton, 2500 = 3/4 ton

So yes your truck is both a K1500 and a Silverado.

Re: What's the difference between...

Chevy actually introduced the "Silverado" as a model in '99 (in 1/2 and 3/4 ton), up until then it was a trim level. They continued production of the C/K series (in 3/4 and 1 ton) through 2000. I learned that when I had a small parts mix-up.
