Re: hud (heads up display

The heads up display fading or dimming problem is either bad solder joints or the photocell on the HUD circuit board located in the dashboard.

Couldn't it also be a dirty dimmer switch? I assume it is a potentiometer of some sort. I would take that out and spray it with tuner cleaner.

Re: hud (heads up display

I've had that happen to me a few times when it gets cold outside. That's only been a few occassions here in S. Florida though.

Apparently it's very common and the problem is caused by a solder connection that needs to be redone.

Some guys on the ***Edited Out by Moderator*** site have done the procedure. I wouldn't know where to start.

Some guys on AF have done it too including me. Sorry link to the exact thread or tech procedure only and not a general reference to Club Med.

Re: hud heads up display

All you have to do is remove the HUD assembly. Then remove the HUD circuit board. Then locate the photocell on the pcb. See first pic. And then touch up the solder points/joints on the back of the PCB. See second pic.
