2002 Buick Regal is it Supercharged?

I have a 2002 Buick Regal LS, I know what you're saying, the LS series isn't supercharged. Let me explain why I need an expert on this, I just purchased a Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid from Autozone, they assured me that this was the correct part for a 3800 series non-supercharged LS.

I looked up the part on RockAuto Parts Catalog online, sure enough, this is the part that was sold to me. The problem is that I also looked up the same part except for a supercharged engine, this part matches what I currently have on the car. Any experts out there that would like to help me out with this one? I have digital pictures of the part on the car and of the car engine.

Thanks....

Unless you have the Eaton M90 blower sitting on top of the lower intake manifold then it is not supercharged aka L67. See pic below. Check the 8th digit of your VIN. "1" is supercharged. "K" is normally aspirated SII 3800 L36.

The L36 and L67 engine share many engine parts including emissions related regardless of whether it is supercharged or normally aspirated so you can't go by that.

Thanks, I guess that this is one part that both engines share.

Re: 2002 Buick Regal is it Supercharged?

Are there any special instructions to removing the old part and putting the new part on? I noticed that there's a yellow twist valve on one of the vacuum lines, just wondering if I can just take off the electrical connection and the vacuum lines without doing anything else. Thanks....

No special procedure - just go ahead and swap them.
