OBD Code 0440 - EVAP System Malfunction

Hey all,

This is my first post. The forum looks extremely helpful.

I am getting p0440 EVAP Control System Malfunction code when check engine light comes on.

Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for diagnosing it more specifically.

Very close friend who owns dealership says it is the EGR Valve Sensors that are not reading.

Are the EGR Valve sensors located inside the valve itself?

Vehicle symptoms: I can hear a slight mis-fire, but is nothing that effects the engines performance. At times (usually at cold start in the morning) power seems limited, but once the vehicle warms up there is no noticeable problem.


Any help would be great!
