Anyone cleaned fuel injector before?

I'm thinking to clean the fuel injectors in my 96 Altima GXE. Any advice? I heard that most shops have a device for off-car fuel injector cleaning. Do I have to use that? May I use, say, carburator cleaner to soak it at home instead?

Any advice will be appreciated.
