Dead 1987 5.7 Tpi Camaro

I RECENTLY PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION INTO MY CAMARO AND RIGHT AFTER THE INSTALL THE CAR DEVELOPED A STARTING PROBLEM. IT WOULD TRY TO CRANK ONE TIME BEFORE COMPLETELY DYING ON ME. I WOULD THEN GO UNDER THE HOOD AND PLAY WITH THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE UNTIL THE POWER CAME BACK ON. I WENT BACK AND FORTH LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 20 MINS UNTIL THE CAR FINALLY STARTED. I THEN DICOVERED THAT THE HORN, HEAD LIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS AND ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE ALL OUT. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR STARTED AGAIN WITH NOT CRANKING. I TRIED WIGGLING THE POSITIVE WIRE AGAIN WHILE A FRIEND TRIED TO CRANK IT AND THEN I HEARD A SIZZLING, BURNING SOUND COMING FROM SOMEWHERE NEAR THE STARTER. NOW THE CAR IS COMPLETELY DEAD AS IF THERE IS NO BATTERY IN IT. THE BATTERY IS BRAND NEW AND HAS A FULL CHARGE SO I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. tHANKS IN ADVANCE.

First, fix your caps lock.
It sounds like the positive cable shorted against a ground down by the starter.
Disconnect the battery and remove the starter and check it out.
