1990 camaro 5.0 running rough when cold

i have a 1990 chevy camaro 5.0 throttle body
the car does not wanna stay running when i first start it up
idles form 2000rpm down to 500 back up to 2000 back down to 500
when i put it in gear and go to take off car spits and sputters bogs out and will not run properly after i get car down road a ways (3-4 miles) and temp seems to reach 180-220 itll run fine

i replaced the plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter coolant temp sensor
map sensor

there is no catalic convertor on it

after i get car running good if i shut it off for a few minutes its fine but any longer than 10 minutes it acts up again and will not run correctly.

i dont know what else to do to try to make car run better

any suggestions????

thanks for looking
mike

Re: 1990 camaro 5.0 running rough when cold

How many miles do you have on the car? Can we can rule out any internal problems such as unadjusted valves? U have no check engine light on? sounds like you might have a big air leak...check your vaccum hoses for any holes or whistling sounds....retighten the tbi unit down to the manifold....check the bolts on the intake manifold while ur there... check your fuel pressure...your fuel pressure regulator might be going south... If you have two injectors check that there both dropping fuel...Check the flow of gasoline coming out of the throttle body units...should be nice strong mist in a cone like flow...u might have dirty injectors or a faulty injector ...add a good high quality gas cleaner to the gas tank...u didnt say that u replaced the air filter...check for any holes on the air intake duct leading to the TBI assembly... others will chime in let us know what the problem was please..
