2001 GMC Jimmy power window problem

I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy s-15 4 door/4WD and the two rear power windows are no longer working. They will not go up or down by either pushing the buttons on the drivers door or the buttons on each door in the back. I tried disconnecting the wire harness from the switch on the drivers door and then tried to open the windows using the switch on the rear doors, but that didn't work either. Any help?

Thanks.

On the connector that goes from the rear door switch to the lift motor, you can measure the resistance between the two wires that run to the motor. I don't remember exactly what it is on these motors, but something on the order of 50 or 100 ohms. In any case, it shouldn't be open and it shouldn't be a short.

You can also apply 12V to those wires directly and see if the motor itself is working. One polarity will make the window go up, the other down. If neither works, you probably have a bad motor. If they do work, it's probably a switch problem (either on the rear door or the driver's door).

Did both stop working at the same time?
