Droplets of "water" in left exhaust pipe???
Today when allowing my truck to idle I noticed that just in the left hand exhaust pipe has drops of liquid coming out of it. I have true dual. That's probably why it only comes out the left side.
Any input as to what this might be? |

Re: Droplets of "water" in left exhaust pipe???
I would guess that it is water. It is normal to have water condense in the exhaust. I have heard that for every gallon of gas burned, there is one gallon of water put out of the exhaust. I don't know if that is true, but there is water that comes out of the exhaust. As long as you aren't losing coolant, I would say it is normal.

yeah water is a natural end-product of combustion, though a lot of water drippage may be bad i suppose because it would indicate a bad head gasket. a lot of cars i follow in traffic will "dump" a little water out the tailpipe when they take off from a stop
