Fuel Issues I Think, HELP!
I have a 2001 Grand Prix GT 3800 series with 104,000 miles on it. About 3 months ago, I almost ran out of gas so I hurried and filled up. It was jerking and "backfiring" for about a week afterwards with the check engine light on.
I filled up again about 2 days ago, and the check engine light is on again. It is "jumpy" when I gently touch the gas, sputtering, bumping when I'm stopped, and my RPMs jump from .5-1.5 when I am in park. When I am driving too, the typical "Pontiac whiney noise" is louder than ever. I have been told it may be the fuel pump, but it hasn't cut off yet. Bad gas maybe? (It is the same station both times.) I am due for an oil change in about 200 miles, use all synthetic, and I am due for a tune up sometime in the late summer. Any thoughts? Advice? Thanks! |

Re: Fuel Issues I Think, HELP!
Take it to an autozone when the check engine light is on, and post the DTC code you get.

Re: Fuel Issues I Think, HELP!
as daejuanj suggested, pull the codes and post them. No sense guessing when the CEL could give us the answer.
