Removal of ECBM 2001 Tahoe
Hi Guys,
Lights are coming on at random times on the dash - code C0265 - I know I need to replace the module - so I searched all the forums, found the links to the sites that fix the part so I do not have to get raped by the stealership - looked under the vehicle and found the module - I have a torx 20 bit, but I am dealing with clearance issues. I am going to go buy a small rachet to use with the bit to see if I can make this work. There is not much room up there for my hands, let alone a rachet and bit - I am doing this on my back and can feel the head of the screws - so I am curious what set up those of you who successfully removed and reinstalled this piece did - specifics please. I found instructions saying to remove the whole bracket from the frame -that looks like a bad idea, because the metal tubes that go into the pump do not look like they have ANY room to move - and even if it did bring it down a half inch - that still is not going to make it any easier. Thanks in advance for your comments - post a picture of your tool if possible Chris |

Re: Removal of ECBM 2001 Tahoe
Thank you - a much better description. Another question, do I leave all the plugs unplugged after removal or plug them back in? My guess would be to leave all unplugged until the repaired unit is replaced.
Thanks |
