I hate commercials

Spotted yesterday in a Slim Fast commercial:

VO: "Slim Fast made it easy to lose weight."
Tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the screen: "Losing weight is not easy."

hahaha those ads always crack me up. They're trying to sell their product and tell you how good it is and how quickly it works and then they put the disclaimer "Results not typical". :hehehe:

I love the Saturn commercial that's playing right now, where there are people dealerships and empty cars driving around looking for just the right people.

I watch no t.v. any more.(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)Commercials have killed it.(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)It seems to me that(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)a lot of the ad breaks follow no logical break in the storyline,(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)and the same ads get repeated far too often.(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)All in all,(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)the whole programme becomes so disjointed(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)as to become(Programme trailer,bank,Toyota,Telecom,Air NewZealand,Mitre10, another programme trailer)unwatchable.

Most ads suck, but occasionally you get very good ones.

That logic sounds like "take three right hand turns to make a left"

On the radio:

Announcer: "People come to McDonalds for billions of reasons..."

Umm... Billions? Really? That's a lot! You only have like 40 things on the menu, so where do you count "billions?" Are you counting units sold as 'reasons?' That might be a billion. Or calories consumed? I'm sure that's way over a billion...

I think it's more like, "Billions of people come to McDonalds for just one reason... They're all too lazy to seek out and prepare real food."

LOL

I love all these ads for prescription medications that will help alleviate alleviate a couple symptons for let's say some allergies, but have typical side effects including:

-nauseau
-dry mouth
-headaches
-concontrollable projectile diarrhea

I'm exaggerating on the last one, but I can't help but think when I see ads like this "wouldn't I be better off not taking anything at all?!?!" :sun:

Aside from that, I am just getting real tired of commercials in general. I am starting to really think about getting XM Satellite Radio, simply because I am so fed up with having to channel surf through my local radio stations just to find music, rather than deal with intermittent commercials all day long. Commercials on TV aren't much better (though I think they tend to be more entertaining in general), but I'd say I watch a half hour of TV weekly - tops, so for me TV commercials aren't as much of an annoyance as radio ads.

Growing up in Hawaii I'd always remember seeing the adds for Pizza Hut and other food places that would advertise their specials. then on the bottom of the screen, Deals not available in Hawaii or Alaska. It was like that for almost everything.
