2000-2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Radio/cd Help
Looking to buy a Jeep grand Cherokee 2000-2001. I see alot of them with the 6/10 cd changer in them. I would prefer the single cd player in the dash. If I see a good deal can i change out the front radio with a single stock cd/cassette radio with no problems. Meaning will the cd changer in the back wiring create a problem of just getting another radio as described and plugging it in. Should i suspect any wiring problems. What do i need to do to disable the rear cd changer. The stock radio has no cd in the front radio.
Thanks |

Re: 2000-2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Radio/cd Help
Well I don't want to really replace the radio with an after market radio I want to put a stock radio/cd/cassette back in. What i noticed in the radios with the 6 disc cd changer you have to load the cds in the back no cd in front. I want to get a stock radio with the cd in front and eliminate the cd changer in the back. So im looking on what needs to be done for that changeover.
thanks for the reply |

Re: 2000-2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Radio/cd Help
I have the 10 CD changer in the cargo area and would prefer the CD player/changer up front also.
Look here- http://www.wjjeeps.com/radios.htm Any '99-'02 should be plug and play with your Jeep. The connecters changed in '02 so a 2003> will require a new harness or adapter. |

Yes you can with no trouble at all. I have an am/fm single cd radio that displays radio info as song playing, station id and stuff like that. It was too new to work in my 99. Let me know if you are interested in it.
