04 stalls after crank/ performance
A few questions on My 2004 Grand Prix GT 3.8 vin2.
1) It stalls directly after I crank for a few times. It will start right away if I hold down the accelerator pedal. Would this be a IAC or a throttle position sensor, or possibly another issue. I gave the car a complete tune up... Plugs(autolite 2x platinum), Wires(Autolite Pro), K&N air filter, (AC)Fuel filter, PCV, I use seafoam in the fuel and lucas in between. The problem was happening before and after all of this. any help would be appreciated. 2) Is there a better performance intermediate shaft available? I am having problems with mine. The dealer replaced it once and a majority of the noise went away. There is still a knocking in the steering wheel when moved side to side, I also feel it in the floor board. The front end is tight. The dealer said the noise is normal in these cars and I know better than that. 3) Where is the best place to buy performance products for this car. I have a 97 GP and it seems to be easier to find more for this model. I am looking for engine performance and miscellanious performance products. *Sorry to put this all in one thread but I did not want to start a bunch of threads. The '04 and up models with SIII 3800 engine use the drive by wire controlled throttle body. A common cure is cleaning the throttle body. There is no IAC like the older models and the TPS is called an accelerator position sensor.
You can get engine performance parts at the same old places as '97-'03 owners. ZZP, 3800Performance.com. PFYC.com and W-Body Store, etc.

Thanks for the help BNaylor....... Which method of cleaning the Throttle body is the best, the seafoam vaccum method or just manually clean it with the spray? Thanks again

Manually with throttle body spray cleaner and best if TB is removed. The Seafoam via one of the vacuum ports method doesn't do a good job on the throttle plate.
