grand prix dic

A couple days ago i ordered a dic for my 95 grand prix, i recieved it today and everything seemed to work well expect for the fact that my outside temperature reading was -40 F. I do live in Michigan but its definitely a little warmer than that. I know the 94-96 Grand prix's are pre-wired for the computer but why am i not getting a accurate temperature reading?

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

Re: grand prix dic

The ambient air temp sensor is GM part # 16073050. If your car didn't come with a DIC, it won't have the sensor. The wiring may be there, but the sensor will not, and that's why it's reading -40F.

Re: grand prix dic

do you know how much the sensor might cost me? and if it would be fairly simple to wire if it is indeed pre-wired for one?
