Please help: Disarm alarm system
I recently purchased a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my remote keyless entry transmitter is broken. I'd like to avoid paying $150 for another transmitter, but when I unlock my driver side door with the key, the alarm goes off and can only be stopped by turning on the engine.
I have consulted the manual, but have not had success finding a solution. Can anyone suggest how I might disarm the system and still open my door with the key? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Joy |

Hi Joy, and Welcome to AF.
I'm moving this for you to the Grand Cherokee forum...you'll probably get a better response. Sorry I don't have a solution for you.

The problem is faulty drivers door electronics. You can disarm the alarm before opening the drivers door by first unlocking the rear hatch as a temporary measure. You should be able to find a remote for under $100.00. |

Re: Please help: Disarm alarm system
You can disarm alarm system by unlocking drivers side door. The reason it is setting off is probably you have a bad ground to the door.
The way to permanently disable the alarm system is to ground the purple wire inside your drivers door.
